About Us...
A Simpler Place in Time began out of a desire to educate our community on the benefits of eating better and more responsibly. From this desire stemmed the idea that we return to what had been normal practice not too very long ago. A return to a time when we raised animals in their natural environments; we grew produce locally and organically and ate what was available in season.
Locally and sustainably grown foods are grown without the use of harmful chemicals. The food is better for you and your support for local farmers is better for our community. We realize that providing this information is only the first step of the education process. Being able to conveniently apply this information to our daily lives is just as important. We feel the best way to do this is to bring the food to you.
We strive to support local farmers who use organic methods. We will complement our offering with certified organic produce from other regions when it is not available to us locally through our partner farmers.
For example, apples and pears have a hard time growing in Central Florida's climate. Does this mean Floridian's should not eat apples or pears? Some say "so". Some say "no". We will leave that decision up to you by labeling the origin of our apples, pears or any other goods for that matter.
In response to many requests, we have recently added a handful of locally and conventionally grown goods. Support a local food system while ensuring you are eating seasonally.
Always rest assured we will label the growing methods of all items so you can choose which is best suited for you.
